Who Turns the Words?
Kate Williams. I am a woman who prizes clear and genuine communication, loves and respects the power of written expression, and honors life’s creative impulse. As an independent and self-motivated professional, I am committed to sharing services with those who have a high regard for human dignity, respect for all life, and desire to live and work authentically.
I have been writing for over 25 years. In that time, I have developed strong editorial skills and sensitivity for coaching others interested in challenging themselves to write well and with a purpose. Along the way, I have refined my relational skills working as a licensed massage therapist, counselor, teacher, and through resolute attention to growing self-awareness. As well, I have been a devoted companion to several dogs over my lifetime; each of them has taught me volumes about compassion and communicating across worlds of difference.
Visions of living within sustainable communities of healthy creative individuals guide my core values of love, respect, and integrity. Offering my skills as a writer to advance your visions and goals as healthcare providers, inspired entrepreneurs, non-profit organizations, and fellow writers is my way of helping spread valuable ideas and services into the world.
I have a BS in Natural History and Its Written Expression from University of California, Davis and a MA in English from Portland State University. I also have years of experience working with, for, and among naturopathic physicians in clinic and academic settings as an administrator, writer, and editor.
A Southern California native, I have made my home in Portland, Oregon for over 20 years. When I am not writing or reading, I am usually walking, biking, gardening, canoeing or simply taking in the world around me. I live peacefully with my partner, dog, and cat.
